Should a fuzztone noisenik indie rock guitarist play soul jams? Christchurch based Adam Hattaway (Wurld Series, The Eastern) has created an album fusing indie rock, soul, classic rock and lo-fi noise.
This album is like nothing you have ever heard.
The album was recorded by Adam over the summer of 2017-2018 at various bandrooms with various band members, then mixed on a 4-track by Christchurch producer Brian Feary.
The album includes a mix of strange stories (Too Tired, a song about not stopping an assassination; To Adelaide, a cryptic letter to a former lover), blue-eyed soul (Turn Around), indie rock scorchers (Interstate, Stacy and the Man), and loose psychedelic sleaze (Café Ryan, Two More In The Hot House).
